Privacy Policy

Typeo is an AI keyboard for iOS made by ForecloseAI Pvt Ltd ("ForecloseAI", "we", "us"). This policy explains what information we collect through the Typeo app and the usetypeo.com website, how we use it, and the choices you have. The short version: we do not sell your personal information, we do not show ads, and we only process what a feature needs to answer your request.

1. Who we are

ForecloseAI Pvt Ltd, a company registered in India, operates the Typeo iOS keyboard app and the website at usetypeo.com. For anything in this policy, contact us at founder@usetypeo.com.

2. Information we collect

On the website (usetypeo.com):

• Your email address when you join the waitlist, along with basic campaign parameters (such as utm_source), the referring page, and the time you signed up. We store these in a private spreadsheet.
• We do not use advertising trackers or third-party analytics cookies on the website.

In the Typeo app:

• A random device identifier that the app generates. It is not your name, phone number, or Apple ID.
• The text of a request when you actively ask Typeo to do something, such as fact-check a claim, find a place, or check your calendar.
• Your approximate location (latitude and longitude), only if you grant location permission, and only sent with requests that need it, such as finding places or showtimes near you.
• Your tool preferences (which Typeo features you turn on or off).

If you connect your Google account (optional):

• Your Google email address, account identifier, and the OAuth tokens needed to access the services you authorize.
• Data from the specific Google services you enable, fetched only when a request needs it: Gmail messages (read only), calendar events and availability, Google Drive file names and metadata, the content of Google Docs you ask about, and Google Meet links created at your request.

3. The keyboard and Full Access

Like every third-party iOS keyboard that talks to a server, Typeo requires the "Allow Full Access" permission. Typeo does not continuously transmit your keystrokes. Text is sent to our servers only when you invoke Typeo and ask it to act on what you typed. Regular typing stays on your device.

4. How we use your information

• To provide the features you ask for and return results to your keyboard.
• To operate, debug, and improve the service.
• To contact you about the waitlist and your invite.
• We do not sell your personal information, we do not share it for advertising, and we do not use your content to train AI models. Our AI provider processes requests through its API under terms that do not permit training on your data.

5. Google user data and Limited Use

Typeo's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Typeo requests the following Google permissions, each powering one feature:

• openid, email, profile: to identify your connected account.
• gmail.readonly: to find and summarize the email you ask about. Typeo never sends, deletes, or modifies email.
• calendar: to read your availability and agenda when you ask, and to add a meeting only at your explicit request.
• documents.readonly: to read and summarize a Google Doc you name.
• drive.metadata.readonly: to find files by name. Typeo does not read Drive file contents through this permission.
• meetings.space.created: to create a Google Meet link when you ask for one.

Google user data is used only to provide these user-facing features. It is never used for advertising, never sold, and never read by a human except with your explicit consent, for security purposes, or to comply with the law.

6. Service providers

We share data with a small set of processors, each receiving only what its feature needs:

• OpenAI (US): processes the text of your requests, and the results being woven into your reply, to power Typeo's AI features.
• Google: the Google services you connect, plus Google Maps Platform for place search (receives your approximate location when you use that feature).
• Amazon Web Services (US): hosts our servers and database.
• Sports and movie data sources: receive the team, film, or city named in your request, never your identity.

7. Data retention

• The text of your requests and your location are processed in memory to answer the request and are not stored in our database. They may appear in operational server logs, which are retained for up to 30 days and then deleted.
• Google account connections (email and tokens) are kept until you disconnect or ask us to delete them.
• Waitlist emails are kept until we launch or you ask us to remove you.

8. Security

All data moves between your device, our servers, and our providers over encrypted connections (TLS). Access to production systems is restricted. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information with practices appropriate to a service of our size.

9. Your choices and rights

• Disconnect Google: revoke Typeo's access anytime at myaccount.google.com/permissions or from the app's settings.
• Access or delete your data: email founder@usetypeo.com and we will respond within 30 days.
• Location: deny or revoke location permission in iOS Settings at any time; place and showtime features will simply use a less precise default.
• California residents: you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell or share personal information as defined by the CCPA/CPRA, so there is nothing to opt out of.

10. Children

Typeo is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

11. International transfers

Our servers and providers are located in the United States, and our company operates from India. By using Typeo you understand that your information is processed in these locations.

12. Changes to this policy

We will post any changes on this page and update the effective date above. For material changes we will provide additional notice, such as an email to the waitlist or an in-app notice.
